Self-isolation is an opportunity. Having nowhere else to be, no events to FOMO about and no expectations beyond the home is a chance to reconnect with your immediate family, to finish an important project, to learn a new skill, write a novel, compose a piece of music and to reevaluate what is truly important in life. After only a few days, I find myself more focused on my children, less distracted by my phone and what other people are doing, and more willing to get down on their level and truly connect. My wife and I now work full time, are home schooling, have become the cleaning people (we have always been fortunate to have someone clean our house), the gardeners and everything else. For single people, you are likely bored. For those with families, you have likely never been busier or more stressed. It's not easy. It is difficult to come to grips with the fact that this is likely just the beginning. Florida schools have been closed for 2 weeks, but I find it hard to imagine that anything will be much different in 14 days. We are mentally preparing to keep our daughter home until Kindergarten next year. Yesterday was her 5th birthday, which we spent at home rather than at school with her peers. She won't see her friends for quite a long time and many of them will likely be at a different school by the time they go back. She may not see her beloved teachers again. She can't do gymnastics, piano lessons, soccer or swimming lessons. These are small problems in the grand scheme of things - she has a charmed life. Children are resilient. But it still makes me sad every day to wake up and try to play the role of parent, playmate, coach and teacher. She needs more. We shall all overcome. In times like this, the mental aspect is often far more difficult than the physical. Stay positive, keep yourself busy and make sure you are thoroughly prepared for anything that is to come. Most of us will not be infected with the virus, so it's essential to focus on your mental health and well-being. In a strange twist of fate, I started a somewhat lighthearted podcast last week, as the world began to melt down and Bitcoin took it's worst dive in history. My parents joked that I have consistently had bad timing with my projects - I started a print publication months before 9/11. For the foreseeable future, the podcast's focus will shift largely to current events - talking Covid and markets with people on the front lines. Today's podcast features best-selling author, life coach and ex fund manager Mike Kimelman. Like me, Mike was sounding the alarm early and often about what was likely to happen with markets and the virus weeks ago - and as twisted luck had it, the coronavirus arrived on his doorstep in New Rochelle, New York. We recorded the episode less than a week ago - you will see that much of it sounds like prophecy. This is truly a must listen. The newsletter is sponsored by Voyager, my favorite crypto broker! I am so excited that they have decided to be a part of my journey, both with this offering and the podcast. There's more about them below. If you enjoy the newsletter, please spread the word! I am working hard to build this community and product and your endorsement is the best promotion possible. I realize that times are tough and that people's wallets are likely to tighten up. That said, I intend to continue to expand on the newsletter, offer more and better information, and to be here day in and day out offering you as much value as I can muster. On a lighter note - I am adding music to the newsletter! Some of you may not know that I spent 20 years as a music producer and world traversing DJ. I have always find that music is the best therapy, and we need it now more than ever. To that end, I am going to share my own old projects, new ideas and also just things that I love at the very bottom of all of the newsletters. You can choose to ignore it, I would not blame you! But I am putting it there for those who are in the mood for something different. If it is something that I produced, I will share the story behind it, what I was thinking at the time, or any insight into the music. What’s in this issue?Sponsored By VoyagerBitcoin Charts And AnalysisStop Loss Strategy - The BasicsFed Slashes Benchmark Rate To 0Altcoin ChartsLegacy Markets And ChartsThe Wolf Of All Streets Podcast W/ Mike KimelmanNewsjacking And RansomwareCoronavirus In Italy - First Hand Account.
